Polyvinyl chloride(#3PVC) found in food packaging and plastic wrap has been attributed to causing cancer, birth defects, genetic changes, chronic bronchitis, ulcers, skin diseases, deafness, vision failure, indigestion, and liver dysfunction. The list of adverse side affects from common toxins in our home environment is long. Clearly the best way to safeguard your fertility and the health of your family is to find alternatives to plastics wherever possible.
Plastics are proven to cause severe hormonal imbalances leading to fibroids, endometriosis and various types of cancer including (and not limited to) breast and prostate cancers; poor sperm parameters; female and male infertility, birth defects (including feminization of the male embryo), immune system suppression and developmental problems in children as well as early puberty onset in young females — yet many people don’t realize how very dangerous and toxic they really are.
The following article on “Avoiding Plastics” includes a table to help you identify common places where dangerous plastics are used and for specific information on fertility friendly food storage options read our “Guide to Food Storage”
