Homemade Almond Butter
Q: Anyone else interested in homemade almond butter! No trans fats, no vegetable oils and no sugar!!
A: Spread a single layer of raw almonds with a sprinkle of fine salt directly on a baking tray and bake on 180 Celsius for 8 minutes.
Give them a shake and bake another 2-3 minutes (trial and error with your oven will determine if you need the extra minute).
Allow to mostly cool and blend in a high speed blender till resembles nut butter. I add 1-2 tsp of coconut or macadamia oil to help it along.
If using a Thermomix, blend on speed 7 till it resembles fine crumbs then blend in speed 4-5 till done. Store in a glass jar.
I don’t bother keeping in the fridge as it gets eaten pretty quickly!
Add a scoop to smoothies, eat on crackers, add to porridge, eat as a dip with cut apple or celery or just eat it straight up!
