IVF specialist already talking about a numbers game
Even before starting my IVF journey, my IVF specialist was already talking about a numbers game. Being a GP, I understand from a doctor’s perspective but I know I have to stop thinking the numbers and my age and get working on something that makes sense.
A:Yes absolutely, I love to hear this because it is a great way to approach your journey to parenthood, especially if you are having trouble conceiving naturally.
I saw some people commenting yesterday about, “Oh, my ovarian reserve is not good, and my egg quality is not good, and my doctor says that I need to go for donor egg.”
What I want to say is that while that may all be true – I don’t know yet because I don’t know your situation, your story, what’s going on for you – what I know is that it is possible to improve egg quality and all the scientific research and data says the same thing.
So then, what do you need?
You need to make sure that you implement all of the things that I’m talking about during the Fertility Challenge. You need to make sure that you get the right recommendations, the right prescriptions, the nutrients even herbal medicines, but don’t self-prescribe. Whatever you do, do not self-prescribe.
Nothing irks me more than the kinds of services that basically go on and they talk about how amazing this thing is and how everyone should be taking this stuff and really what they’re doing is they’re just selling you a product. It’s really important that you become discerning in regards to what you believe and what you buy in to.
There are definitely things that you can do in order to optimize your egg quality . What I want you to know is the things that you can be doing right now are going to be the foundation that’s required. The #FertilityChallenge is just the start!
