Is it possible to conceive naturally, with anti mullerian hormone (AMH) under 10?
Is it possible to conceive naturally, with an AMH anti mullerian hormone level of under 10?
A: AMH anti mullerian hormone is basically ovarian reserve test. So it tells us, not the number of eggs that you’ve got less, but essentially your fertility potential. It can’t be looked at on its own. You need to have a look at AMH in conjunction with all of your other hormones, but it’s certainly a good gauge of what’s going on. I have dedicate an entire 90 minute webinar for this topic because I know that there are so many of you listening in, who are either over 40 or would like to know how to best optimise your chances of a natural conception if possible, but definitely the ability of having a healthy conception, pregnancy and baby.
To answer your question very briefly, the answer is a resounding yes. I have helped many women conceive and have very healthy babies with an AMH level of much less than 10. I’ve had women conceive and have healthy babies naturally with an AMH level of even less than 1. So obviously, this is not the ideal scenario, but unfortunately some women just find themselves in that situation and what we then need to do is just pull out every trick in the book to make sure that we’re helping them to have the best possible chance of conception and of carrying a healthy, successful pregnancy to term.
I’m pleased to say that we are successful in doing that many more times than we failed, so yes, it is very possible.
