What should I do about hypoglycaemic episodes?

So hypoglycaemia is when sugar levels will fall below 4, 3.5, some people will say. A couple of effective options are to develop the simple habit of carrying a quick fix:-

  • 2 medjool dates, just the dry dates that you find at the supermarket. One date actually has about 15 g of carbohydrate. So one is actually all you really need.
  • Especially for children two tablespoons of sultanas or about 3 dried apricots.

Just follow your standard hypoglycaemic procedure and check about 10 to 15 minutes after your sugar has dropped and you’ve eaten the fast acting sugar, just to ensure that your sugar levels have increased.
