The 80/20 rule or the Pareto Principle is a fantastic little tool. Essentially, what it states is that; 20 percent of any effort will yield 80 percent of the results.
Therefore, what you need to identify in order for you to have balance in your own life, is where to invest your effort, what are the one or the two things that if you started or if you stop doing would make all the rest of your effort easier for you?
What are the things that you need to start saying yes to, what are the things that you need to start saying no to, what one or two changes if implemented would dramatically influence, enhance or support your ability to achieve the best possible outcome in your life?
As this applies to weight loss, what are the one or two things that if you were to put in place, you would have a consistent result in regards to your weight loss? You probably don’t need to think too hard or long about this, just be honest with yourself.
The other thing that you need to become aware of is how important losing weight is to you. How important is it to making sure that you are in optimum weight? Write down your smart goal for weight loss, so a goal that is Simple, Measurable, Accurate, Realistic & Time bound.
For some people, it’s not a number on the scale. For some people, it’s about what kind of clothes they fit into or how their body looks like, or how they feel as a result of losing weight. Simply identify what the weight loss goal needs to be for you because that’s what we need to start working towards.
